To Make His Name Great (Part 2)

God is big. Like, really big.
He works in ways that are unfathomable and mysterious. When there is no way, He makes a way.
Because He can.
Because He is God.

For example, did you ever read about the time Jesus fed 5,000 people with the equivalent of a Hebrew Lunchable?

"They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread a fish." Mark 6:42-43

Jesus didn't just tide them over until they could get home for dinner... No, he gave them enough so everyone could eat their fill. And when they had, there were leftovers! All from just five loaves and two fish.

And what about the time the Israelites fled Egypt, escaping from slavery, and they came to the Red Sea? The Egyptians were hot on their tail, and ahead was a vast expanse of water. Do you remember what God did? He made a way when there was no way!
"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left." Exodus 14:22-23

God didn't help them all to supernaturally swim the expanse. He didn't even part the waters and have them walk through whatever sludge lays at the bottom of the Red Sea. No, he allowed them to walk across on dry land.

And of course you must remember when God hit the "reset" button and flooded the entire earth, saving just Noah and his family and some animals. After nearly a year of being stuck on the floating zoo, the ark landed on dry ground, they all got off the boat, and God said:

"This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,  I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” Genesis 9:12-16

God didn't just let them off the boat (an extremely longed-for and welcome gift in itself, I'm sure) and let them get on with rebuilding their lives. No, he chose to place a beautiful, visual reminder of his promise plastered across the sky for generations to come.

Last week, over the course of about 48 hours, I went from 70% of my monthly support to 127%.
Yes, you read that correctly. One hundred twenty-seven percent supported!
Exceedingly and abundantly God provided!

Why so much extra?
Because he can. He is God.
And because he loves us lavishly!
And because He's in the habit of giving his children far more than they could ever dream of or deserve.

All for the sake of making His name great so the world might know him.
Thank you, again, for your prayers, obedience, and generosity! Now you can all say that you've witnessed a miracle and experienced God's powerful provision.
